What You’ll Walk Away With

The whole picture, in plain English.

Bob keeps every webinar grounded in California law and family decisions. No jargon dump. By the end you will be able to answer the questions that matter.

  • What a revocable living trust actually does and why most California families need one.
  • The four-document plan: trust, pour-over will, durable POA, advance health care directive.
  • How Prop 19 changes inheritance of a California home and what to do about it.
  • The conservatorship alternative and why families want to avoid it.
  • Heggstad and trust modification petitions in plain language.
  • Cost, timing, and the steps from first meeting to signed plan.

From Webinar to Signed Plan

Three steps, on your timeline.

The webinar is step one. There is no obligation to take the next step, and the second step is still free.

  1. Watch. Any of the three webinars, any time. About 90 minutes, and you can watch it in pieces.

  2. Preliminary Planning Session. A complimentary 30-minute conversation with Bob. He reads any current documents you bring and identifies what your family actually needs.

  3. Plan Design Meeting. The first paid step, only if you decide to move forward. The plan is drafted, reviewed, signed, and funded over the following three to six weeks.

  • Three recorded versions of the Living Trust Seminar Bob has taught in Santa Clara County since the 1980s, each tuned to a different audience: Estate Planning for Busy Parents, The Living Trust Webinar for Couples, and The Living Trust Webinar for Individuals. Each covers the California revocable living trust, the pour-over will, the durable power of attorney for finances, and the advance health care directive, plus Prop 19 and the conservatorship alternative.

  • Pick by household. Parents with minor children should watch Estate Planning for Busy Parents, which spends the most time on guardian nominations and holding assets in trust until children are ready. Married couples should watch the Couples webinar for joint-trust versus separate-trust decisions and Prop 19 planning. Anyone single, widowed, divorced, or planning separate property should watch the Individuals webinar. The legal framework is the same in all three; only the examples and emphasis change.

  • Yes. All three are complimentary, and every viewer is offered a free 30-minute Preliminary Planning Session with Bob afterward to walk through their own situation. There is no obligation to engage Bob after that session.

  • Any time. The webinars are evergreen and on demand, so there is no date to wait for and no seat to reserve. Register with a short form on the webinar you pick and the recording is sent to you. You can start, stop, and finish on your own schedule, and watch with a spouse, adult children, or parents.

  • About 90 minutes. Because the webinars are recorded rather than live, you can watch in shorter sittings and revisit the sections that apply to your family.

  • Yes, a few times a year. Bob teaches the live Living Trust Seminar in person at the Campbell Community Center. Live seminar dates and registration are on the seminars page. The webinars are the on-demand alternative for families who do not want to wait for the next live date.

  • A complimentary 30-minute conversation with Bob after you watch. He reads any current documents you bring, listens to what your family situation looks like, identifies any immediate deadlines, and tells you whether the standard four-document plan fits or whether a more specialized approach is needed. The session is by phone, by Zoom, or in person at the Ross Avenue office.

  • No. The webinars are an explanation, not a sales pitch. Bob explains what each document does, what Prop 19 changes about California planning, and what the alternatives look like. The free Preliminary Planning Session is offered to anyone who wants to take the next step, and decisions about engaging Bob come later, separately.
